Jenny Trattles is a passionate advocate for music education, inspiring both children and adults to discover the joy of singing and develop their musical talents. With a wealth of experience as a freelance music education consultant and co-leader of the new ABRSM Voices, Jenny collaborates with national organisations, multi-academy trusts, and a dedicated team of practitioners to provide exceptional music training for teachers and students alike.

In her role as Associate Musical Director of the renowned Scunthorpe Cooperative Junior Choir, Jenny focuses on building partnerships with local schools and enhancing professional development for teachers. She also leads the choir’s ‘Little Choir,’ engaging 3-5 year-olds and their parents in joyful music-making. Jenny is known for organising and leading ‘Big Sings’ across the country, creating valuable resources, and delivering impactful continuing professional development sessions in collaboration with local Music Hubs and other professional music organisations.

With 17 years of classroom teaching experience, Jenny understands the importance of equipping prospective primary teachers with strong music subject knowledge during their initial training. She works closely with S.K.I.T.T. providers and serves as a guest lecturer at higher education institutions nationwide, ensuring future teachers are prepared to deliver a rich, and broad curriculum.

In addition to her educational work, Jenny directs The Ropewalk Singers, a community choir in North Lincolnshire. She treasures the joy, health benefits, and sense of community that come from communal singing and is dedicated to fostering these experiences for all participants.
