About our venue
Convention takes place in the London Road site of Reading University, based in its Great Hall, a popular concert venue, and its Music Education department. There is ample parking on-site and Reading station is within walking distance. There is plenty of reasonably priced accommodation in the town centre, with special delegate deals at many.

About the town of Reading
Known for its beer, biscuits and bulbs in the industrial revolution, Reading has transformed into a vibrant, metropolitan town located on the River Thames and Kennet & Avon Canal. Home to the UK’s iconic Reading Festival, its growing arts and culture community boasts some of the best entertainment in the country. Reading’s rich and diverse communities are represented by its global food and drink scene, with well-known chains and quirky independents serving everything from street food to fine dining.

Finding accommodation
There is no on-site accommodation and this isn’t included in delegate rates this year, but there is plenty to choose from in Reading town centre.
- Visit Reading has a large searchable list of hotels, guesthouses and self catering
- Visit the large accommodation sites such as booking.com or lastminute.com.
- The university also publishes its own details of accommodation, with some discount deals – download the brochure here.
- The nearest hotel is Reading Premier Inn, 10-15 minutes’ walk away.
- Reading Central Travelodge is about 20-25 minutes’ walk away, or 10 minutes by car.
Getting to Reading
Reading is one of the best-connected towns in the UK, offering lots of travel options and excellent transport links, whether you’re travelling by car, bus, train, coach, bike, on foot.
By rail
Reading train station is right at the heart of the town, with a second station located to the west of the town centre (Reading West). Offering links locally and all over the country (22 minutes from London), travelling to Reading by train couldn’t be easier. Reading is also now the western terminus of the Elizabeth Line. The railway station is about 20 minutes’ walk away from the university. To follow walking directions on Google, click here.
By car
The London Road campus is just over 2 miles from junction 11 of the M4 motorway. The sat nav postcode for the main White Gates Car Park is RG1 5AG.
If you are travelling by car, please use the White Gates Car Park which is accessible from Crown Place which is just off the London Road. The White Gates Car Park has up to 200 parking spaces which are offered on a first come first served basis. There are disabled bays within close proximity to the Great Hall entrance. No parking permit is needed at the weekends.
