Open to all aged 18 to 25 not currently earning a living from conducting, this course runs parallel with Convention so that students can attend Convention events as well. Lucy gives group tuition in the basics of choir training and conducting, and works on rehearsal and leadership skills. This is a practical, hands-on course; the emphasis is on informality and small-group

Lucy is one of the most respected conductor-animateurs of her generation. He leadership experience ranges across vocal and instrumental music-making with professional, amateur, youth and adult ensembles at the very highest level of each.

Repertoire list:

Please come to the course ready to lead the following, from memory.  Free choice of repertoire, can be aimed at any age group:

  • One 5 minute warm-up
  • One round (The Kings Singers Book of Rounds, Canons and Partsongs should provide inspiration, if required)
  • One workshop song (any short song that you would teach to a group aurally)

Please also prepare (at least) one piece from each of the following lists:
