Dr Mary Black is Senior Lecturer in Teacher Education at Liverpool Hope University she has taught in a variety of primary and secondary schools in Yorkshire and lectured at Bretton Hall College of Education before coming to Liverpool Hope.
As a singer and conductor, she has performed regularly throughout the North West, is a member of the Association of British Choral Directors and is currently Musical Director of Hope Park Voices. She composes and arranges for choral ensembles.
Her PhD research is on the strategies used by choral directors in rehearsing, particularly focussing on the verbal imagery they use.
