Edward Caswell

Saturday | Sunday

Since moving to Cromarty in 2012, while continuing to work as a choral conductor in Germany and The Netherlands, Edward has developed a reputation locally as a singer, teacher and adjudicator, and for Cromarty Youth Opera, which he founded with his wife Clare in 2013. Previously Edward sang extensively as a soloist and chorister; highlights included singing with The Monteverdi Choir during the Bach Cantata Pilgrimage and singing the role of Fasolt in the Grand Canyon Ring Cycle with Arizona Opera.

Later this year Edward will work with choirs in Leipzig, Dresden, Paris and The Netherlands, as well as leading workshops at the Leipzig Book Fair and chor.com in Dortmund. He will direct Cromarty Youth Opera in ‘Elephant Angel’ by Gareth Williams in August and this year will also see the release of his book ‘it’s always a pussycat: a singer’s approach to choral conducting’.
